Their heroism and skill at fighting the Luftwaffe interceptors and attacking ground targets was worthy of medals and commendations - but because of the prejudice they were for the most part denied these symbols of recognition.<BR/><BR/>I look forward to being able to see the movie: Proud. I had never even heard of the USS Mason until it was mentioned in the Ken Burns movie/documentary "The War".<BR/>I am not an African-American but want to have recognized the efforts of ALL Americans who fought and served in WWII and all our other conflicts.
